Improve Your Search Rankings Using GooglePlus

Improve Your Search Rankings Using GooglePlus

GooflePlus Social media plays an instrumental role in audience growth, providing websites with the opportunity to share more content and develop a rapport with their followers. Facebook and Twitter, with a combined 1 billion active users, have emerged as leaders in this regard, regularly introducing people to new pages and handles, which, when executed properly, inspire followers to visit the curators’ websites. After a disappointing first couple of months for GooglePlus, Google launched “Search, plus Your World” back in January 2012, a feature that merges public search results with personalized results from the search engine giant’s recent foray into the world of social media.
With “Search, plus Your World,” logged-in GooglePlus users will be able to see relevant public or shared posts from their Google+ friends as well as prominent GooglePlus users every time they perform a search. Personalized results are marked with a blue silhouette and given preference over non-personalized results from the listing of search results to suggested search terms in auto-complete. Given Google’s popularity as a search engine and people’s propensity to stay logged in to their accounts, especially when using private computers, “Search, plus Your World” places brands and websites with GooglePlus pages at a significant advantage over those who have yet to join.
GooglePlusTo improve your likelihood of appearing well positioned in a personalized search, you have to actively maintain your GooglePlus profile, just like you maintain your Facebook or Twitter. This means regularly updating your profile with detailed posts that use important keywords; uploading photos with actual titles and not just the standard camera-given alphanumeric name; joining as many circles as possible, especially of individuals that are prominent within your area of focus; and, most importantly, being a person with thoughts and interests rather than an uninspired page of links. Google+  is most interested in accelerating the growth of its community, so it places users with sizable followings who frequently discuss specific topics under the People and Pages section on the right side of the page to promote connections and conversations. By becoming an active participant in the world of GooglePlus, you’ll increase your chances of appearing under the section which will allow those outside of your circles to learn more about you and add you to their circles, further expanding your reach.
Speaking of circles, Google+’s most notable feature lets users organize people into different, customizable circles, allowing users to share content tailored to the specific relationships they have with each of their circles. Circles mimic real world interactions by recognizing the nuances that relationships have in terms of subject matter and saturation points; for example, if you have a food blog, you can place vegetarians in one circle, chefs in another circl, and farmers market vendors in a separate circle, so the vegetarians don’t have to read about that rack of lamb you made last night and people aren’t inundated with posts that are irrelevant to their interests. You can further enhance your relationship with members of your circles by participating in hangouts; these multi-person video chats allow you to interact directly and in real-time with people and are significantly better than Facebook’s temperamental chat feature.
GooglePlusAnother way to garner more visibility for your Google+ profile, and ultimately your website, is to guest blog. Guest blogging is a great way to introduce yourself to a new audience while building relationships with other bloggers and sites. If you do  write a guest blog, integrate GooglePlus into your piece by having the site include rel=”author” with a link to your profile. When a logged-in Google+ user searches for a term related to your blog, your piece, which is now linked with GooglePlus, has a better chance of appearing near the top, and your profile picture will accompany the link, helping it stand out from the rest of the results.
Do you want even better chance of being ranked on the search engines?!

How to Master the Call To Action!

CTA - Master the Call To Action!

Master the call to actionOne of the biggest challenges email marketers face is getting their subscribers to perform an action once they have received, opened and read the email.  Calls to action (CTA) can vary a great deal depending on what you want the recipient to actually do. A well thought out and suitably executed call to action can mean the difference between a great email campaign and a very poor one.

What makes a killer call to action?

Master the Call To Action - Rule #1 Get to the point

Before you start to think about the wording, positioning or style of your call to action, you need to decide what it is you actually want the recipient to do. Although it might be tempting to give the reader options, asking the recipient to ‘share, like, book, read and learn’ all in one email can result in a somewhat confusing experience. If you feel that you absolutely must have multiple calls to action, ensure that one of them is clearly the most important and catches your subscriber’s attention foremost.

Master the Call To Action - Rule #2 Be Repetitive

Give the reader multiple opportunities to click through by strategically placing click-able components throughout your message.

Master the Call To Action - Rule #3 Be Visual

master the call to actionConsider using visuals as cues alongside the text of the call to action.Think shopping carts to encourage purchases, a watch to convey the fact that time is running out etc.

Master the Call To Action - Rule #4 Be Tempting

Fear of loss is a powerful marketing technique. Use a statement alongside your CTA that suggests an expiry date or a limited supply of the offer. For example ‘last few spaces’ or ‘offer ends Friday’.

Master the Call To Action - Rule #5 Be Arranging

While web users do scroll below the fold on websites, Neilson have reported that ‘the portion of space ‘above the fold’ still remains the most valuable, with 80% of users’ time on sites spent in this area’.
For your information, the fold is the part of an email a user sees before they are required to scroll down. Therefore, by placing your CTA higher up in your design, you are more likely to convert those people who spend little or no time reading beyond the fold.

Master the Call To Action - Rule #6 Test

Experiment with your campaigns. Tweak the call to action and send one variant to one group and another to another to see which performs best.

Meteorite strikes Russia!

Meteorite strikes Russia - injured over 1,000 people

Meteorite strikes Russia and explosions in the skies of Russia's Urals region has sparked panic in three major cities. Witnesses said that houses shuddered, windows were blown out and cellphones stopped working.

Video that shows when the meteorite strikes Russia:

The meteorite that struck central Russia last week, which injured around 1,000 people as it broke apart over a section of the Ural Mountains and sent shockwaves across the ground below, was but one of thousands that have impacted our planet over the past four millennia. Now you can see the location of every recorded meteorite impact on Earth going back to 2,300 BCE all in one heat map created by Javier de la Torre, cofounder of geo software companies Vizzuality and CartoDB.
Meteorite strikes Russia
De la Torre created the map using CartoDB's mapping software, which relies on the free crowdsourced OpenStreetMap for its base layer. The meteorite impact site data — 34,513 individual points of impact in total — came from the Meteorological Society, an international nonprofit scientific collaboration. De La Torre was inspired by a map The Guardian newspaper created on its website using the same data.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons From Disney World

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons
Disney World isn’t just a magical place for families or kids.  It’s also pretty magical for marketers too.  The Disney Institute has been around for more than two decades teaching business people from any industry how to apply techniques that have been honed at Disney Parks over years and years.

So, here are 6 Magical Exceptional Marketing Lessons that Disney World uses:

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #1 Branding Everything

At Disney, you can’t look in any direction without seeing branding all around.  In the park it works to surround you with the Disney experience at every moment.  Not to mention the side benefit of Disney likely negotiating some discount on the construction work from Stanley in exchange for allowing them to put their brand on the signage seen by millions of park attendees.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #2 Let Your Customers Be Lazy

In front of nearly every ride there are stroller parking – and in Magic Kingdom, there are plenty of strollers because nearly every group have some small children.  There are areas set aside for stroller parking, and clear instructions for where to park your stroller. In most places, this might create chaos.  At Disney, they have a “stroller guy” whose entire job is to pick up after lazy customers.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #3 Take The Money

Some of the rides and attractions at Disney are sponsored – including the “People Mover” train ride, which is randomly sponsored by Alamo car rental.  Instead of doing something smart and potentially even strategic, like sponsoring the tram that takes you back to your rental car (which might actually BE from Alamo) or even negotiating to have some special parking priveleges from Disney for customers who rent from Alamo – they decided to sponsor a random ride.  Disney, of course, took the money.  What’s the lesson?  If someone wants to give you dumb money – always say yes.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #4 Surprises Are Offered Everyday

The FastPass system at Disney is a work of analytical art that is designed to keep people moving through attractions faster and in a more optimized way.  To use it, you just insert your own park ticket and the FastPass will give you a specific time to return to a ride in order to board it without a wait.  At several, you also got the unexpected surprise of a bonus ticket to a nearby (and usually less popular) ride.  Thanks to this bonus ticket, you have the chance to ride an extra ride in the same time and feel just a little better about your experience all day.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #5 Don't Prevent The Inevitable

Many of the rides take photos of you while you are on board.  Those photos are sold to riders after the ride – a classic amusement park upselling technique.  At Disney, they show you the images and put a person below those images just standing by to answer questions.  Of course, some people will just take a cell phone photo of their image instead of buying one.  Many places would put up big signs preventing that.  Disney, instead, puts a person there working under the photos to make it a little more socially awkward to take a photo of your photo … but they don’t outlaw it.  The result is that they probably still get a high percentage of people buying the photo who really want it, but they don’t need to have the typical corporate policy of outlawing the inevitable group of people who are happy with lower quality photo they take themselves.

6 Exceptional Marketing Lessons - #6 Give Idiot-Proof Directions

6 Exceptional Marketing LessonsPeople are generally dumb when it comes to finding their way around.  As a result, signs have to be super easy to navigate and offer simple ways to get from one place to another.  Disney does a great job keeping their signs easy to understand, having a generally logical layout for parks and lots of places to pick up copies of maps as you’re walking around their parks.

Oscar Pistorius - sista nytt

Sista Nytt Om Oscar Pistorius
