There’s an old cliché in self-development:  what would you do, if you knew you could not fail?  It’s a great question, designed to get you to think bigger.  It’s based on the assumption that people dial back their goals for fear of failure. 

Noble idea, but not usually accurate…

Because the reason most people set smaller goals is because they are afraid they won’t fail.  It’s all subconscious of course.  But they’re afraid they’ll actually reach those goals, and for many people, that sets off the worthiness alarms.  They think those lofty goals are only for “other’ people, people who deserve them more.

Sometimes we complicate things way too much.  Success always comes down to the decisions you make.  And it’s not usually the BIG ones… Most people invest some real thought in those and usually get them right.  It’s the LITTLE decisions that get them:  Whether to work out or not.  Apologize or not.  Pass up that extra piece of pie.  Tell the truth. When you’re faced with a decision, remember this simple concept from the Course in Miracles:  All decisions are based on one of two choices:  fear or love. Decisions based on fear are seldom the right ones.  Decisions based on love are usually sound ones.   Want to make the right choice?  Think about which of these two is really driving your decision.
