Balance in Life

Most people have enjoyed great successes in some parts of their lives. The problem is that most of us neglect some parts to succeed in others. Doing this corrodes your success and will over time start hurting your future chances.
If you do not find balance and succeed in all 4 areas you will start to deteriorate in all.
The Four Major Areas of Your Life Are:
Health
Family
Career
Finances
How they work together:
All aspects of your life work in tandem. Success in one area will spill over to another, but on the other hand neglect will destroy your success in any of the other areas of your life.
Some examples of problems that can arise if you don’t take care of all areas
Health –> Relationships –> Career –> Finance
If you let your health slide your energy levels deteriorate, when you don’t have sufficient energy keeping quality relationships becomes difficult which will make you depressed which effects your results at work causing problems in your career and thereby your finances.
Finance –> Health –> Relationships –> Career
One of the most common causes of stress is money issues. Stress hurts your health and reduces your energy levels which hurts your relationships and thereby your career.
Career –> Finances –> Health –> Relationships
Your career controls your finances, which in turn controls how well you can take care of yourself and an unhealthy person cannot be a good friend since they are too tired and irritable to be around.
Success in one doesn’t compensate for failure in another
Because of this balance it doesn’t matter if you success in one area if you do not spend time on and focus on the other areas of your life as well.
As long as you are mindful of all aspects you will start improving in them all and success in one will fuel success in all the other aspects of your life.
Set your goals
Set goals for all areas of your life and remember to set goals for all for areas.
Ask yourself;
“What is my goal career?”
“How do I want my financial situation to look in 4 years?”
“What shape do I want to be in? How is my health?”
“How is my family situation? My relationship to my friends in 1 year?”

Live Your Life!

Life can get hectic.  Work, errands and other responsibilities. It gets busy.
There’s always stuff that has to be done.  And that never ends, so stop trying to have it all done.
Pause now and then to breathe.  Schedule a sunrise or a sunset.  Find time for that massage or bike ride.  No matter when and where you are, there is something beautiful to see.  Notice it.  And make sure you tell people you love them.
You can’t love life until you live the life you love.  And only you get to decide that.

Quote of the day

“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life" Napoleon Hill

The Myth of Balance

There is not much you can’t accomplish if you have passion, intensity and urgency.  So let’s break that down…
You need a goal that excites you, pulls you toward it, and has you throwing the covers off the bed in the morning to pursue it.
You can be cool; you can’t be casual – you have to be intense.
And finally, you have to be impatient!  Patience is a virtue in many situations. Patience when pursuing success is simply an excuse for mediocrity.
Be impatient to live your passion, and pursue it with intensity.
Self-help speakers and authors talk about balance a lot.  They suggest all of the different areas of your life should be in balance.  You may have seen the “balance wheel” where you are supposed to draw out a circle and divide it into areas of your life (family, work, recreation, spirituality, etc.).  They suggest it should be round, with all the areas of equal importance.
That’s one of those quaint motivational things that sounds good, looks good, and looks good on paper – just doesn’t work in the real world.  Successful people in any endeavor make a conscious decision to get OUT of balance, whether for a day, a week or a season.
No one is ever in perfect balance, other than for a few fleeting seconds.  The successful people are the ones who are conscious about where they are out of balance.  They choose the areas and time to get out of balance.
When a loved one is ill or dying, they choose to get out of balance to spend more time with them.  When the championship game is coming up, they choose to devote more time to training.  When they’re launching a new business, they realize it will require extra time and dedication – which must come from some other area of their life.
Want to be successful at something in your life?  Decide where you need to get out of balance.
